Through its long history spanning many decades of supporting civil rights, civil liberties, and human rights, the NCWNP District JACL Executive Board adamantly advocates for universal rights and freedoms for all human beings. We aim to stand as a model for inspiring a commitment to champion the principles of civil and human rights for all.
In these traumatic times with innocent lives profoundly impacted by many politically motivated conflicts around the world 1, including the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the communities who have experienced unimaginable loss and suffering, irrespective of their background or affiliation. We condemn any disproportionate violence which perpetuates more violence. Our mission should be resolute in breaking this destructive cycle that divides and diverts us from our shared human identity. In this spirit, we stand with Palestinians, Israelis, and all those who ardently pursue peace and justice, acknowledging their equal rights to self-governance and shared rights, unequivocally opposing occupation. This mission is based on humanitarian respect for the basic needs of others in the world and with an understanding that we are all part of an interconnected global community.
NCWNP District Executive Board supports ongoing diplomatic efforts to bring about an immediate and sustainable ceasefire, secure the immediate release of any and all hostages and help alleviate the tremendous suffering of all civilians who are in dire need of protection and life-saving humanitarian assistance.
Our calls to action 2 include:
We, the NCWNP District Executive Board, firmly believe that through empathy, understanding and unity, we can collectively make a difference and create a world where all lives are valued, protected and allowed to thrive. This is our commitment to a just global society.
