The Japanese American Citizens League is a national organization whose ongoing mission is to secure and maintain the civil rights of Japanese Americans and all others who are victimized by injustice and prejudice.

The JACL Northern California - Western Nevada - Pacific (NCWNP) District sponsors educational programs focused on topics such as civil liberties, hate crimes and discrimination. These programs are aimed to help the public be more aware about what people as citizens can do to make a difference in their communities.

The Japanese American Citizens League is the nation’s oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization. Founded in 1929 to address issues of discrimination targeted specifically at persons of Japanese ancestry, the JACL has broadened its perspectives to include the welfare of all who fall victim to social injustice.
